Contactless payments are on the rise, in fact, Yankee Group (June 2009 edition) predicts 23.6 billion contactless transactions by 2012 and 31.8 billion in 2013. That coupled with the speed at the point of sale and convenience of contactless payments makes this market prime for an explosion of growth.  Contactless devices are ideal for merchants with a high volume of low dollar transactions.
